Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Datacenter - includes recycled Server Manager user interface and uses Metro to replace the usual Start menu. It is reported that this version of the operating system of choice is removed download directly to the desktop interface, and now it can only be accessed through the Metro.

Windows Server 2012 also includes a new file system, Microsoft Resilient File System (ReFS), designed to efficiently manage large volumes, to prevent loss of data and to share storage between systems. Originally ReFS will only be available in the server version of the platform, but Microsoft is planning to move it later on client systems. Microsoft has also previously stated that the majority of applications for Windows Server 2008 and R2 should work on Windows Server 2012.
